In dedication to Dionis Guerrero Baez. May you flourish in ways you never thought possible!
Recently I joing "World Peace Promoter", a group on facebook and wrote the following:
I know this group is about world peace, but along with the underlying concept (of saving lives and enhancing them with virtues and positive energies--my meek interpretation :)--) I wanted to share that I've registered to become a Bone Marrow Donor! Today I saw a story of a young man who lost his mother and only two siblings on flight 587 only to be diagnosed with this life threating desease right as he embarked on his college career. Raised by his dad, he aimed to be a surgeon one day, but now this one day may never come. I tried to go up to NY Presbyterian for the drive (so badly I wanted to be his match), but I was too late. Still I did something about it and am hoping that as this group will impact change, that I can impact life--literally. If you're interested, go onto: http://www.dkmsamericas.org/. All the "pain" and "procedures" questions you may have can be answered right then and there. The movie "Pay it Forward" doesn't have to be a sweet fiction we all liked, pay it forward in real life. Sending out energizing vibes to you all :*
Honestly, I thought that it was exceptionally unfair that I've been so privileged in my life and Dionis has not. Still, as I felt it through the interview he granted NY1, as well as the words he was quoted saying by Fox News, he is such an optimistic young man. So badly I found myself wanting him to go back to school and be the surgeon he dreams of being one day. I called NY Presbyterian Hospital and was informed that the drive geared at saving him and others was still there and so I rushed to the locale only to feel shitty that I didn't know about this before hand. The most amazingly supportive partner in the world tried to console me and said that I tried, "you tried doing your part and that's what counts", but of course to me enough is never enough. I am an exaggerated being (plenty of people can attest to that) and more I was going to do. I'm registered and some of me will save someone else...how more complete can I ask to be?
